They also provide support services to descendents of Indian Residential School in Unamaki. We have two RHSW who cover Unamaki, one RHSW is responsible for client care in Eskasoni while the other RHSW is responsible for Wagmatcook, Waycobah, Membertou and Potlotek First Nations. The clinical Therapist position is responsible for the delivery of mental health and clinical therapy services to residential school survivors and their families again covering all of the first nation communities in Unamaki. The Cultural Support person offers ceremonial supports as requested such as going to the communities to conduct sweat lodge ceremonies, smudging, talking circles, sacred teachings and reconnecting survivors of Indian Residential School back to their traditional way of life. The Cultural Support Person also conducts ceremonies to incarcerated first nations people at the Correctional centres.
