Health Information Management
Despite all the bits of information we collect (or that is collected about us), for a long time health planning involved a lot of filling in the blanks and guesswork. That’s because before our client registry, data sharing agreement and health information plan, no one was connecting the data to understand the stories it tells.
The Tui’kn Partnership has broken new ground in how information is collected, linked and used to support First Nation community health planning. Because of the particular impacts of such issues as diabetes, heart disease and cancer on our communities, we have given particular attention to the collection of information about chronic illnesses so that we can better prevent and manage them.
